Yesterday, May 30th, the Book Study "The Fountainhead", written by Ayn Rand, took place in the Gazeta Network auditorium. Associate III, Karen Meirelles, led the event and was joined by presenters Daniel Lube, Felipe Garayp, Hélio Pepe, Luan Sperandio, and Rodrigo Queiroz.
Karen brought in her briefing a little bit about the book: "The book relates, through an engaging novel, the importance of the individual and the confrontation between his values and the virtues well regarded by collectivism. With iconic characters such as Howard Roark, Ellsworth Toohey, Peter Keating, Domique Francon, and Gail Wynand, the author reveals values crucial to the individual as opposed to collectivism."
The associates sought to bring a study quite different from the usual, a theatrical presentation, which was based on the court trial of the character Howard Roark. For this, the presenters incorporated each character from the book. In addition, the group had the participation of other members to be part of the play: Jéssica Prata, Lívia Dalla Bernardina, Luiz Henrique Stanger, and also acexternal guest Gabriel Tebaldi - Professor and Businessman from Espírito Santo.
In this book study we had the highest attendance of members in ordinary events of the year, precisely because the group sought a totally different approach to the work and its author. After the theater, there was a moment of questions and answers, fostering a debate with those present about the central theme of the book, individualism.
