Author Dan Ariely introduces the unseen forces that drive us to make the wrong decisions
On September 27, the associates participated in the study of the book “Predictably Irrational”, written by Professor of Psychology and Behavioral Economics Dan Ariely.
He is also the author of several books and scientific articles; he is a founding member of the Center for Advanced Hindsight; his works have been published in vehicles such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, Business 2.0, Scientific American and Science.
In this specific work, Dan presents some revelations that change the way we understand human behavior, such as curious experiments and innovative research that have great implications in our personal and professional lives.
The group, formed by André Barbosa, Jessica Lima, Pietro Tanure, Thiago Gaspar and Yuri Corrêa, brought in their presentation the highlights of each chapter of the book. Felipe Reuter, Associate II and event leader, recalled in his briefing: “(...) the author Dan Ariely dared to question the rationality of the modern human being. Using well-established research methods, he came to conclusions that are not obvious, but that allow us to reflect on our own decision-making.”
Now in the words of Nassim Nicholas Taleb, “This book is both profound and easy to read. Wonderful and revealing.”
