Directed by Phyllida Lloyd, the film shows the story of Margaret Thatcher, the British prime minister and the first woman to hold this function
Before the study of the film “A Dama de Ferro” last Monday, the associates had the opportunity to watch the movie at Cine Jardins, on Thursday, August 5th. We had almost 40 members and lots of popcorn!
It was an extremely important moment for everyone to get to know a little more about the Thatcher government, which lasted eleven years (1979 to 1990), which had a political philosophy and economic policies that emphasized deregulation, privatization of state-owned companies and the reduction of power and influence of unions.
In the presentation itself, the group formed by Hilcker Scopel, Hugo Côgo, Luis Bissoli and Suzanny Leal, approached several themes behind the scenes of the film, such as curiosities and influences about Margaret's personal life, deepening in the values of the Rule of Law, Free Market, Private Property and greater detailing of the economy at the time and its effects today.
Nádia Medici da Costa, Associate III and event leader, brought in her briefing: “Margaret Thatcher revolutionized the way of administering politics, her actions being referred to as Thatcherism, where ethics, interest in the individual and an uncompromising approach were perceptible to achieve your goals.”
Both events were held in accordance with the security measures established by the cinema and auditorium of the América Centro Empresarial.
