Yesterday, April 4th, a lecture was given by Rodrigo Marinho to the members of Líderes in person at América Centro Empresarial. The lecture was mediated by the event leader Heitor Fernandes, associate II of the Institute. Rodrigo is a Lawyer, Professor and Master in Constitutional Law, Counselor and Podcaster at Instituto Mises Brasil and Partner at LVM Editora.
The lecture had as its theme “fallacies, affirmative policies, populist discourses: a political analysis”, in a way that complements last week's book study “Facts of Fallacies of Economics”, by Thomas Sowel, bringing a more politically oriented view.
The event leader brought a brief view of the subject in his briefing: “Despite so much information that we have today, the incentives of the political world are sometimes perverse, favoring fallacious narratives that contradict the available data, and end up supporting decision-making that harm the business environment.”, making a connection with the speaker's speech.
Thus, Rodrigo brings reflections on the subject, concretely showing the fallacies and the intentions behind them, encouraging even more the search for reliable sources of research and the well-thought-out choice of who we put in power. The event ends with a chat with questions and answers, so that a lot of topics could be discussed.
