Written by economist, philosopher and writer Thomas Sowell, the book shows how research and facts are essentials in the formation of any conclusion

Six members of Instituto Líderes do Amanhã presented the book study “Discrimination and Disparities”, on May 31, in an exclusively online format. Among them: Felipe Fernandes, Luis Bissoli, Murilo Carvalho, Rodrigo Lorenzoni, Suzanny Leal and Associate III and the event leader, Vitor Bobbio.

They based their speeches on the following points: what is the concept used by the majority when mentioning the word “discrimination” in daily lives; which facts bring to light the division of groups and their social disparities and education; practical examples of how to observe actions after showing the media from non-mandatory in-depth data.

This certainly demonstrates the speech of the event leader in his briefing: “Usually, Thomas Sowell chooses areas and themes that are unpopular or infested with false knowledge, and deepens his studies in understanding whether common sense really represents reality. And the identifications show us that the basis for the formation of public opinion is often composed of a lot of rhetoric and a lot of symbolism, and almost no facts."

Perhaps this is the greatest insight presented by the associates – in the almost 150 pages of the author's “conclusions”, they are all based on the 315 practical cases from the last 30 pages of the book, in order to demonstrate the origin of all his collocations.

Upcoming events will also be in an exclusively online format until hybrids are considered again.
