Out of 1,215 pages, author Ayn Rand shows the fundamental moral values of her philosophy, which she calls Objectivism
The size can intimidate, however each page of the work brings a valuable lesson about the human mind, considering that the main characters are people endowed with great intelligence, for which they made their fortune and were responsible for the development of society.
Francisco D'Anconia, Dagny Taggart, Hank Rearden and the main character, John Galt, represent the values that the author Ayn Rand considers the ethical ideal for humanity: rationality, independence, integrity, honesty, justice, productivity and pride; and antagonists are characters who are not guided by their own values, even if they say they do, their values are incoherent, abstract, subjective and mutually contradictory.
The presenters made analogies to people and events of our day-to-day to exemplify such characters present in the book. Rodrigo Freitas, Alberto Vieira, Lívia Abreu, André Rigoni, Samara Repossi, Magno Martins, and Associate I and event leader, Yuri Corrêa, also set aside time for debate, allowing members and guests to explore key points of the book.
"Even though it is a fictional work, there are so many points that connect us with reality, that make us reflect on our life and our society, that we can't just disregard it as soon as we read the last sentence on the last page,", the event leader said last Monday (28).
The event took place in a hybrid format, in which approximately forty people attended in person, respecting all protocols and security measures of the place.
